We have a very arts heavy faculty at West Cliffe Montessori.  Our Montessori practitioners have degrees in Theatre, Music, Dance and Art from Universities in the UK and internationally.  We have specialist trained staff with degrees from Savanna College of Art and Design, who work with the children on individual and group projects, following their interests.  Staff trained at the Royal Ballet School, who work with the children on movement and staff trained at SUNY Albany Theatre school, that work with the children on speech, language and drama.  We know the Montessori approach develops outstanding creative and analytical thinkers and we foster this at West Cliffe.

Art– children are encouraged to enjoy a variety of creative activities, as well as gain knowledge of fine art.

Music and Movement – is used to develop listening skills, co-ordination and refine large muscle movement.  Children experience music and dance from other cultures.  Staff are trained in Kodaly music as well as having extensive music and choral experience, we sing and dance a lot both in groups and individually.

Drama - is used to engage the children and develop their confidence, we use dramatic story telling to bring cultural events to life along with fostering the children’s own natural role play.
